VINTAGE & ANTIQUES
Fusion™ has taken over 10 years to develop, test and refine, and our hard work has truly paid off. Fusion™’s results are nothing less than spectacular, providing furniture painters a best-in-class paint that features; an environmentally conscious formulation, zero VOCs, superior durability, easy one-step application and significantly improved strength. Delivering an exceptional matte finish, this 100% acrylic paint requires minimal prep work!
APPLICATION: Follow our directions carefully and Fusion™ can be applied to most previously painted or coated surfaces without priming or significant prep work.
NO TOP COAT?: Fusion™ is formulated with a built in top coat, the 100% acrylic resin. You do not need to use a top coat for water permanency!
COVERAGE:Excellent coverage! Our Fusion™ paint offers incredible coverage of 75 sq ft per Pint(500ml). In most cases one coat is all you need. Our coverage is outstanding!
DURABILITY: Once Fusion has cured, it yields a highly durable and a washable finish. If you choose, you can of course achieve a beautiful lustre by adding a Beeswax on top, or the Tough Coat Finish. Fusion™ is dry to the touch after 2 hours and can accept a re-coat after 4 hours. Cure time with all acrylic paints is 21 days, however, painted surfaces can be used gently after 24 to 48 hours of drying time.
SHEEN: Fusion™ is offered in a gorgeous matte finish. This means an almost zero reflectance value that allows you to achieve a beautiful smooth finish.
DISTRESS: Absolutely! This paint is extremely easy to work with, though we recommend distressing soon after the paint has dried. It is very durable, so achieving the same result is tad more work after it has cured! It is recommended to apply a top coat when you distress because you will break open the surface and a top coat will be necessary to prevent water damage and continued distressing through extensive wear and tear.
Questions? Here's some we had:
Q: Is Fusion™ the same as a Chalk-like Paint?
A: No, it’s not. Fusion™ is a 100% acrylic, water-based paint. The “mineral” in Fusion™ MINERAL PAINT refers to the pigments used which are harvested from the earth. Using natural rather than synthetic pigments allows for greater depth in colour and better durability to UV light and time. Once cured, a surface painted with Fusion™ is both water and stain proof. No primer or top coat required, making it more of a one-step kind of paint.
Q: How long does Fusion™ take to dry?
A: Drying and curing are two different things. Dry time usually refers to the touch or tackiness. Fusion™ should dry to the touch within an hour or two. High heat temperatures and high humidity play a factor making it sometimes slightly longer to dry.
Cure time is approximately 21 days, once again depending on the weather, similar to all waterbased paints on the market. What does this mean? You can still use your piece gently, however the paint will be at it’s strongest to resist any marks the longer it has to cure.
Once the Fusion™ line has cured, the durability is unrivaled. and, our Fusion™ line is water resistant.
Q: What can I use Fusion™ on? Can I use Fusion™ on Metal or Glass? What about my Kitchen Cabinets or Bathroom Vanity?
A: The question is what can’t you use Fusion™ Mineral Paint on? The options are endless, keep in mind the surface prep that may be necessary depending on the condition of your particular project. Metal and glass should be pre-prepped with Ultra Grip™ first for the best results. You can now use our Fusion™ line on virtually any surface (Ikea cabinets, laminate, you name it!) with excellent results!
Q: How much paint do I need for my project?
A: Fusion™ has an excellent coverage, which allows us to offer Fusion™ in Pints and tester sizes. A Pint covers approximately 75 sq ft. Most projects only require a Pint, however having to buy a quart leaves you with wasted paint and money.
We are offering excellent quality and coverage, in sizes you will use, resulting in less environmental waste.
